Given that the rules are not optional the Mini One Stop Shop (MOSS) will become the key element of the new Directive. Of course, registering with MOSS is optional but SMEs need to be aware of its benefits. If they don’t register with MOSS then they will have to account, and register, for all VAT on their sales in each EU Member State. Good post, Nick.

We believe that the new mini on stop shop (MOSS) system is good for telecommunications merchants. The MOSS system was created simply because the EU authorities believed that it would be an administrative nightmare for companies to deal with all 28 EU tax authorities. From that standpoint the MOSS system can only be welcomed.
